UK in Belgium
The UK and Belgium have a long shared history covering many areas:
- political links: as well as strong bilateral links, the European Union is often at the heart of relations between the two countries;
- commercial links: Belgium is the UK 6th largest trading partner; maintaining and developing trade relations is the main objective of our UKTI section
- cultural links: the Belgo-British Conference is one of the many examples of co-operation between the UK and Belgium which we achieve each year notably with the help of the British Council

Closing dates
Please note that our Consular Section will be closed on Friday 19 December 2008.
During the Christmas period the Embassy will be closed on 24, 25 and 26 December 2008 and on 1 and 2 January 2009.

Recently, Britain celebrated the handover of the Olympics as London Mayor Boris Johnson was handed the Olympic flag in Beijing, marking the start of London's tenure as the official host city of the 2012 Summer Games.
